What your child does
A picture appears with its word missing the middle vowel. Your child taps the speaker to hear the word, then picks a, e, i, o or u. Each vowel button has a picture clue, like a for apple. Later levels have them read CVC words on their own.
The skill it builds
Short vowel sounds in CVC words. If an answer is off, the cat says the sound of the vowel that was picked and asks your child to listen for the middle sound again.
The game's listing notes align it to Common Core RF.1.3.B, RF.K.2.D, RF.K.3.B.
