What your child does
The cat reads a story like "The pie had 8 slices. 3 slices were eaten. How many are left?" Eaten slices show as empty spots with crumbs, with the number sentence under the pie. In the last level your child finds how many were eaten.
The skill it builds
Subtraction from 5 and from 10, then finding the missing part. If an answer is off, the cat coaches counting the slices left or the empty spots, then numbers the slices on the next try.
The game's listing notes align it to Common Core 1.OA.A.1, 1.OA.C.6, K.OA.A.2, K.OA.A.5.
