What your child does
Your child counts the treats in each bucket and taps the bucket with more. In other levels, they tap the sign that goes in the middle: less than, equal to, or greater than. The open side of the sign always faces the bigger number, like a hungry bat mouth.

Comparing numbers and using the <, = and > signs, all the way to 999. Hints teach the place-value strategy: compare the hundreds first, then the tens, then the ones.
