What your child does
A coin appears in the middle of the screen. Your child looks at its size and value (1¢, 5¢, 10¢ or 25¢) and taps the matching jar, or drags the coin into it. Correct sorts fly in with a happy chime; wrong sorts bounce back with a friendly "Try again!"
The skill it builds
This is coin recognition: telling coins apart by size, color and value. The game's own tip says it best: the dime is the smallest, the quarter is the biggest, and the penny is copper. Early rounds start with just pennies and nickels and stay gentle; after several wins, hearts appear.
The game's design notes describe it as coin recognition for K-1 and a foundation for Common Core 2.MD.C.8 (money).
